About Me

Greetings, I am Amita Risbud, Registered Social Worker (MSW), Psychotherapist at Mind Garden Therapy.

As an experienced therapist who has supported clients with trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief, as well as adult ADHD, I believe in empowering my clients using a strengths-focused and goal-oriented approach.

My practice is grounded in a strength-based, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed approach, which is infused with warmth, empathy, and tranquillity. I offer culturally diverse and language-specific services in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Urdu (spoken) while integrating principles of CBT, DBT, EFT, ACT, IFS, SFBT, and mindfulness in my practice.

What to expect in the 1st session?

  • Introductions, rapport building, and creating a safe space
  • An opportunity for you to share your story/significant life events including strengths, challenges, and factors contributing to distress
  • Discussion your expectations from the therapy process and the therapist
  • Talking about setting therapy goals and discussing various treatment modalities
  • Discussing logistics and policies (frequency, fees, cancellation, paperwork)
  • Addressing any questions and concerns - having open conversations!
  • Accessing if this is a good fit for both, you and the therapist

All information shared in the sessions is held in strict confidence and will not be communicated to anyone without your informed and written consent. Some legal exceptions to this rule will be discussed during the initial consultation call.


Your appointment time has been reserved for you. If you need to change or cancel, I ask that you let me know at least 24 hours before your session time.


Payments can be made through etransfer or credit cards (Visa, MasterCard).
